Packaging & Availability
Storage & Handling
- Storage & Handling
- It is recommended that DiTech Surf Fabric Softener be stored in sealed containers kept in a well-ventilated area away from sparks, fire, and open flame. Avoid overheating or freezing. Equipment should be grounded when transferring or using material. Normal safety precautions (e.g., gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handing DiTech Surf Fabric Softener. Contact with eyes, nose or prolonged contact with skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling DiTech Surf Fabric Softener. See SDS for more information.
- Non-Bulk Storage Recommendations: DiTech Surf Fabric Softener should be stored in closed containers and kept in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of the SDS). If material is frozen it should be heated gently to a maximum temperature of 50°C (122°F) and stirred to ensure it is homogeneous prior to use.
- Bulk Storage Recommendations: DiTech Surf Fabric Softener should be stored in vessels of 316 stainless steel. Material should be stored between 4°C - 50°C (39°F – 122°F). An internal hairpin coil of 316 stainless steel with low pressure steam (under 50 psig) should be used if heating is required. Pumps, pipes and transfer lines should be 316 stainless steel.
- Workplace Exposure
Occupational exposure can occur primarily through skin contact or via inhalation of vapors and mists. Engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and other workplace safety practices should be used to control these exposures. See SDS for more information.
