- Advantages
- May be troweled onto floors, walls and overhead surfaces.
- Exhibits outstanding strength and tenacious bonding to wood, steel, glass, ABS and other non-porous surfaces.
- Resists a wide variety of chemicals Simplified application because of extended pot life and non-critical mixing ratios.
- Can be applied in damp or dry conditions.
- Cures underwater if No. 5 sand (sugar sand) is added.
- Can be used to:
- Join and repair concrete pipe
- Fill voids in wood, steel or concrete
- Bevel welds adhere pipe saddles
- grout bolts and rebar into walls and ceilings
- repair fiberglass and pump housings

- Surface Preparation
All surfaces to which the AP 990 is applied must be clean and free of dust, oil, grease or rust.
- Mixing
Mix Armor Plate 990 Resin (part A) and Cure (part B) in equal proportions, by volume. Stir the mixture for at least 2 minutes, until a homogenous mixture is obtained. Mechanical mixing is recommended because of Armor Plate 990\\\\\\\’s viscosity. If Armor Plate 990 is to be used under water, mix fine, dry No. 5 sand (sugar sand) with the mixed batch in proportions of 3-4 parts sand to 1 part resin.
- Application
Armor Plate 990 may be applied with a trowel, tongue depressor, or putty knife. When placing AP 990 in anchor bolt or rebar holes, place a small amount of grout at the end of the hole, as well as on the bolt or rebar. This method will assure that the anchor bolt or rebar is completely surrounded by the grouting material.
- Coverage and Estimating
The theoretical coverage of the Armor Plate 990 is 231 cu. in./gal. Typical coverage is:
1/32 inch layer
51 sq. ft. per gal.
1/16 inch layer
25 sq. ft. per gal.
1/8 inch layer
13 sq. ft. per gal.
1/4 inch layer
6.4 sq. ft. per gal.
For other applications, the amount of grout (with aggregate) needed, without consideration of losses during mixing and application, is determined from the following formula:
G
is the Amount of Grouting Material needed (gallons)
r1
is the Radius of the Holes to be filled (inches)
r2
is the Radius of the Bolt or Rebar (inches)
d
is the Depth of the Hole (inches)
n
is the Number of Holes to be filled

Storage & Handling
- Shelf Life
The shelf life of AP 990 is a minimum of one (1) year. AP 990 may still be usable after 2 or 3 years if kept in tightly sealed containers in a dry location. After one year both A & B are dryer and harder to mix due to fillers absorbing the resin. After one year of shelf life it is recommended that a test batch be mixed to determine its reactivity.
