WETSOFT® AOP

• WETSOFT AOP is particularly suitable as an active substance in formulations for the impregnation of fibers and textiles, when good wetting properties are desired. Maintaining the moisture absorption of the treated fiber, WETSOFT® AOP contributes to a high comfort factor of the textile. WETSOFT® AOP emulsion imparts a soft hand to woven and knitted fabrics, and is non-yellowing. WETSOFT® AOP improves the wash and wear properties, sewability and reduces abrasion loss.
• WETSOFT® AOP has good durability up to 3 home laundries. WETSOFT® AOP has very little effect on the degree of white in a softener formulation when usual application conditions are adhered to. As a rule, no adverse effect on the shade or color fastness properties of colored goods is observed.

Processing

• WETSOFT AOP can be from solution, or emulsion. Suitable solvents are aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, higher alcohols, and ketones. Most textile processes are water based. Hence WETSOFT® AOP is mainly applied from emulsion. WETSOFT® AOP is suitable for the formulation of micro emulsions. Emulsions made with WETSOFT® AOP are diluted to the optimum concentration for the specific fabric. Application can be done by padding or exhaustion.
• WETSOFT® AOP can be utilized as the active substance in softener emulsions or in combination with other components, e.g. polyethylene waxes, organic softeners, etc. Compatibility of the components has to be checked in each individual case.

The glycol free nature of WETSOFT® AOP guarantees low solubility in water while maintaining good wetting properties of treated textiles. Emulsions of WETSOFT® AOP impart an excellent hydrophilic silicone softener for a wide range of fabrics and other substrates, such as 100% cotton, poly/cotton blends, rayon, acrylic and wool. WETSOFT® AOP has an excellent hand and is non-yellowing. It is also an efficient hydrophilic softener for nonwovens and toweling.
