- WACKER® AF 3670 is designed to impart a soft, supple hand without the associated yellowing. WACKER® AF 3670 has good hydrophilicity when compared to standard amino softeners. WACKER® AF 3670 will also give some wrinkle recovery and improved fabric elasticity. It is easily dilutable to concentrations down to 5% solids.
-
Processing
- WACKER® AF 3670 is particularly suitable to produce softener micro emulsions by simple dilution of the concentrate. These emulsions can be used for the impregnation of fibers and textiles.
- Dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 impart a soft, and slick hand to woven and knitted fabrics. They improve the wash and wear properties, the crease recovery angle, sewability and reduce abrasion loss. The effects are fast to washing.
- WACKER® AF 3670 will give excellent rewetting when compared to standard amino softeners. Dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 have little effect on the degree of white when usual application conditions are adhered to.
- As a rule, no adverse effect on the shade or color fastness properties of colored goods is observed. Dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 give permanent effects and provided no resins are used, specific curing conditions need not be adhered to.
- Dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 can be applied either by padding or by the exhaust method but, as with all products containing silicone, the finishing liquors should not be subjected to high shear, as this might cause instability. 10-50 g/l of WACKER® AF 3670 diluted to 20-30% solids are recommended for the pad method.
- For the exhaust method 0.5-2%, relative to the weight of goods, is adequate and the treatment should be carried out at 40-50°C for 15-20 minutes. The pH of the liquor should not exceed pH 6. It may need to be adjusted with acetic acid.
- Dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 can be applied both alone or together with resins and other finishing agents. If dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 are used together with cross-linking agents and other additives, it should be added, in dilute form, after all the other products. (This applies generally to the processing of all polysiloxanes).
- Higher crease recovery angles and lower abrasion values can be obtained in resin finishing by using dilutions of WACKER® AF 3670 . A wide range of hands can be obtained by combining WACKER® AF 3670 with conventional softening agents and other additives such as fillers based on polyacrylate.
Typical Formulation- 70.9 parts demineralized water
- 29 parts WACKER® AF 3670
- 0.1 parts conservation agents
Gradually add WACKER® AF 3670 and mix until the product is clear and homogenous. Finally the conservation agent is added.
