- The product amount should be tailored to the particular tissue being used. It is generally recommended that the tissue should be coated with between 2 and 8wt.% of LIOSILĀ® MR 1003. Roll coating is recommended for LIOSILĀ® MR 1003. If the product is applied by spraying technology, one of the following two criteria should be observed: 1.
- The atmospheric particle distribution should comply with SEHSC recommendations (see "guidance for aerosol application of silicone-based materials"), i.e. the average particle size should be larger than 30 μm, and less than 1 % of the particles should be smaller than 10 μm. 2. If aerosols are formed we recommend relating to the silicone fluid not to exceed a TLV of 0.2 mg/m³ air which is recommended by ACGIH for mineral oil mist.
- The use of the emulsion is recommended for all conventional tissue types such as toilet paper, paper handkerchiefs or cosmetic wipes which may benefit from a certain soft feel. The emulsion can be combined with other organic softeners, too, provided an adequate compatibility test has been performed. If substantial foaming occurs during processing, we recommend our WACKER SILFOAMĀ® antifoam agents.

- Owing to its special structure and orientation on cellulose fibers, LIOSILĀ® MR 1003 is characterized by an excellent soft hand and a readily hydrophilic character.
- Excellent soft hand combined with good hydrophilicity
- Very easily dilutable with water
- Low viscosity
- High substantivity on cellulose fibers
- Permeable to water vapor
- Microemulsion
