Vinkocide® CMIB DBNPA

Vinkocide® CMIB-DBNPA is a formulation combining 5-chloro-2-methyl-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (CMIT/MIT) with Bronopol and 2,2-dibromo-2-cyanoacetamide. This preservative provides a broad spectrum of activity, particularly effective as a slimicide in paper production and in-can preservation in the paper industry. Free of formaldehyde, it offers enhanced efficacy, especially against Pseudomonas species, ensuring the preservation of aqueous systems and controlling microbial deterioration in various industrial processes.

Application Notes
  • Vinkocide® CMIB-DBNPA combines the fast speed of kill of DBNPA and then protects the product with the long-lasting effect of CIT/MIT.
  • Avoid strong bases, redox reagents, alkaline conditions and temperatures over 60°C.
  • Under normal use patterns concentrations (w/w) of 0.05 – 0.54 % are sufficient for the wet-state preservation.
Product Applications
  • PT 6 – In-can preservatives: Products used for the preservation of manufactured products, other than foodstuffs or feeding stuffs, in containers by the control of microbial deterioration to ensure their shelf life.
  • PT 11 – Preservatives for liquid-cooling and processing systems: Products used for the preservation of water or other liquids used in cooling and processing systems by the control of harmful organisms such as microbes, algae and mussels.
  • PT 12 – Slimicides: Products used for the prevention or control of slime growth on materials, equipment and structures, used in industrial processes, e.g. on wood and paper pulp, porous sand strata in oil extraction.
