- Product Applications
- Preservatives for products during storage: Products used for the preservation of manufactured products, other than foodstuffs, feedingstuffs, cosmetics or medicinal products or medical devices by the control of microbial deterioration to ensure their shelf life. Products used as preservatives for the storage or use of rodenticide, insecticide or other baits.
- Slimicides: Products used for the prevention or control of slime growth on materials, equipment and structures, used in industrial processes, e.g. on wood and paper pulp, porous sand strata in oil extraction. Working or cutting fluid preservatives: Products to control microbial deterioration in fluids used for working or cutting metal, glass or other materials.
- Application Notes
- In many cases 1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one can be used as the only preservative. Depending on the conditions and applications it can be useful to combine it with other biocides to enhance the fungicidal efficacy.
- Vinkocide® is highly suitable for the preservation of a wide variety of aqueous products due to their good properties:
- good stability at high pH (3-13)
- good stability at high temperatures
- Experience shows that the compatibility with most products and raw materials is excellent, but it is recommended testing the stability in individual formulations.
- Under normal use patterns, concentrations (w/w) of 0.05 – 0.2 % Vinkocide® BIT 20 are sufficient in most applications.
