grotan® TK 5 plus

grotan® TK 5 plus offers a water-soluble solution containing 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (OIT) and ethylenedioxydimethanol (EDDM), primarily designed for aqueous concrete admixtures and sugar solutions. While highly effective in ligninsulfonate-based admixtures, it exhibits a broad, balanced spectrum of effect against bacteria, yeasts, and molds. Recommended for incorporation into freshly mixed concrete to prevent microbiological growth, it ensures prolonged preservation by limiting preservative consumption. Although its water solubility is limited, it demonstrates good immediate efficacy, particularly against bacteria, while containing no organically bound chlorine. grotan® TK 5 plus serves as a versatile solution, suitable for various applications beyond concrete admixtures, including preservatives for liquid-cooling and processing systems and working or cutting fluid preservatives.
