MACKESTER® GSV

MACKESTER® GSV is a >85% vegetable-derived grade of ethylene glycol monostearate, designed for cosmetic formulations. It serves as an excellent opacifier and pearlizing agent for lotions, creams, shampoos, and hand cleansers. Additionally, it functions as a low HLB emulsifier and emulsion stabilizer for both oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) systems. MACKESTER® GSV is soluble in hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and chlorinated hydrocarbons but is insoluble in water. Formulation Tips
  • Requires heat to incorporate and 70 - 75°C until dissolved is recommended.
  • Cool slowly while mixing gently for optimum pearl.
  • Usage level between 0.5 - 3.0%.
