MACKAMIDE® LME is a humectant used in skin and hair care formulations. Unlike glycerin, it offers light conditioning without a tacky feel. Similar to molecules in the skin's Natural Moisturization Factor (NMF), it binds water in the stratum corneum, increasing moisture retention for long-lasting effects. In skin care, MACKAMIDE® LME enhances the water-holding capacity, while in hair care, it adds moisture to improve manageability, particularly in dry hair. MACKAMIDE® AME-100 is an effective humectant for skin and hair care formulations. In lotion formulas, it provides moisturization similar to glycerin but without the tacky feel.
