Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-13 A is a Food- grade Epoxidized Soybean Oil Most flexible PVC compounds and some rigid PVC compounds benefit from adding this kind of plasticizer. Although light and heat stability is improved by adding 2 or 3 phr, the percentage of use can significantly increase because KALFLEX-13 has the same plasticizing efficacy as DOP. Consequently, it can efficiently substitute it by adjusting some mixture and process parameters in order to compensate its lower activity. Its use includes different kinds of compounds such as PVC, nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber and PVC copolymers, etc. ADVATAGES: *Approved for Non- toxic formulae. *It gives PVC formulae resilience to the extraction through oil, naphtha and soapy water. It resists substrate migration like polystyrene and nitrocellulose. *It has low volatility and its use is recommended in anti- fogging formulae for automobile industry. *It does not modify the softening point of rigid compounds. *It is an excellent dispersing agent suitable for pigments and sponge agents. *It offers excellent light and heat stability. It gives an ideal effect when combined with Barium- Cadmium and Calcium- Zinc stabilizers. In addition, it also synergistically works with lead and tin organo- metallic compounds. As an example, a formula with a Ba-Cd stabilizer level of 1.5 phr and KALFLEX-13 shows the same resilience to heat and light than a formula having only a stabilizer level of 3 phr. * Epoxidized plasticizers are also useful in other areas such as alkyd resins modifiers, metallic primer stabilizers, nitrocellulose varnish modifiers.

Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-11 (DOA) is a monomeric plasticizer having good compatibility and high effectiveness. The most important feature is that compounds that maintain flexibility at very low temperature can be obtained. At room temperature, softer compounds than KALFLEX-10 (DOP) can be produced. It is used in the manufacture of plastic fabrics to give a dryer appearance.

Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-11 (DOA)

Varteco Quimica Puntana KAL-1 is a viscosity depressor of plastisols on the basis of non-ionic tensioactives KAL-1 is recommended to regulate the initial viscosity in plastisols. It not only produces a reduction in the initial viscosity higher than 25% but also it keeps this difference, damping the increase created by the aging. In addition, it promotes desaeration of the plastisols.

Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-10 (DOP) is a primary plasticizer par excellence. It has low volatility, good heat and light stability and good compatibility with all PVC resins. KALFLEX-10 is also compatible with other polymers such us alkydic resins, butadiene acrylonitrile, chlorinated rubber, cellulose nitrate, PVC/PVA copolymer, etc.

Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-10 (DOP)

Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-16 (DINP) is a primary plasticizer similar to KALFLEX-10 (DOP). Their differences vary according to the increasing molecular weight. It is less volatile, has less power as solvent and less plasticizer effectiveness. As a result, it is adequate to be used in plastisols when formulae with low viscosity and low level of plasticization are required. It is also used with KALFLEX-10 to regulate the final viscosity of plastisols. Additionally, it can be used in high temperature compounds due to its lower volatility.

Varteco Quimica Puntana KALFLEX-PP is a Propyleneglycol Polyadipate High resilience to the extraction of PVC compounds through oils, hydrocarbons and soapy water, etc. is the main feature of polymeric plasticizers. The low volatility promotes less plasticizer loss during the process, higher stability of the mechanic properties of the compound (very slow aging and fog elimination in automobiles) and less odor of the end product. Low migration is another advantage of polimeric plasticizers. As a result, they can be used in compounds in contact with adhesives, rubbers, polystyrenes, etc.
