The company was founded in 1966 by Thomas Adams to fill the need for a special coating to reduce galling and its associated effects on titanium parts used in high performance aircraft. This coating and method of application, now widely known as the “TIODIZE PROCESS”, has been specified for use on practically every major space, military and commercial aircraft program since its introduction.

Rapid acceptance of the Tiodize Process led to intensified research and the development of solid film lubricants. The result was the introduction of the TIOLON and TIOLUBE families of advanced anti-friction, anti-wear, Mil-spec quality dry film lubricants. The ALUMAZITE family of aluminum pigmented corrosion inhibiting coatings was the next logical step and today we employ over seventy different coatings for lubrication and corrosion problems. In addition to technical support, we also have full processing plant capabilities to accommodate your needs.

Research into lubrication also led to the development of TRIBO/COMP, a self-lubricating composite material for use as bearings, bushings and a multitude of other friction products.

Composite research led to FIBER/LITE, a range of fasteners and fastening devices made of composite for use with composites.

Tiodize has even developed a line of non-hazardous cleaners and lubricants for the sports, consumer and racing markets. Through ongoing research and development, we are constantly anticipating the needs of today’s advanced applications and we continue to expand our vast array of products, many of which are featured here on our site. T8E-H Grease is an anti-seize products having unique inorganic pigment and is designed to be used as an aid for the installation and removal of threaded fasteners which are exposed to temperatures up to 1400°F for long periods of time. T8E-H Grease is completely inorganic and do not contain any sulfur producing materials, nor any metallics, such as silver or nickel. T8E-H Grease is approved by aircraft engine manufactures, gas turbine, and steam turbine companies. T8E-H Grease is a heavier grease and is designed to replace graphite petrolatum grease (GE Spec A50TF201), especially for use at temperatures to 1400°F.

Alumazite ZP-9 is a low VOC corrosion protective coating that does not contain any metallics, such as chrome or other hazardous materials. Alumazite ZP-9 provides superior corrosion resistance and superior fretting wear.

Z-329 is a single component, water base coating formulated to inhibit corrosion. This hard film, water-dispersing coating is designed specifically for application on the interior and exterior surfaces of the fuselage, wing, empennage and other areas, where corrosion from water and condensation have been a traditional threat. Z-329 is a non-flammable, fast drying coating with excellent adhesion that penetrates to protect fasteners, joints and faying surfaces. Unlike wax or oils, Z-329 is environmentally safe and can be sprayed "on-line" with a high volume, low pressure spray unit, and without the need of a spray booth. Z-329 can be applied after all other customer finishes, specification primers, top coats and sealants have been applied and cured.

WB-50 is an environmentally safe water base, low VOC, non-flammable Cetyl alcohol lubricant. WB50 Cetyl Alcohol is a white crystalline, odorless and non-corrosive lubricant that is compatible with fats, fatty acids, waxes and petroleum oils. It is a non-toxic, non-irritating and otherwise innocuous material that meets federal, state and local environmental standards. It is designed as an installation lubricant for mechanical fasteners, such as pins, bolts, nuts, collars, washers, threaded or non-threaded fastening devices and rivets. It meets MIL-L-87132B.

Tiolube 29 is an extreme environment high temperature solid film lubricant. It can be used in hard vacuum, radiation, liquid oxygen, liquid hydrogen. Tiolube 29 is recommended for use on fasteners, sleeve bearings, rocket engine hot gas valves, jet engine shafts, bushings, etc. Tiolube 29 is also resistant to most organic solvents, skydrol, oils and degreasers. This lubricant may be applied on all metals by spraying, dipping, or brushing. Tiolube 29 meets the requirements of Mil-L-81329, NATO Code S-1737.

Tiolubee 614-T9B is an inorganic bonded dry film lubricant utilizing a specially formulated composition of oxides. Its primary function is to prevent seizing of threaded fasteners. Its high temperature capabilities offer a unique combination of performance benefits not available with other solid film lubricants. Tiolube 614-T9B is designed for use in jet engine applications and is used on A-286, Inconel and Waspaloy fasteners to replace silver at 1400°F. Because Tiolube 614-T9B contains an inorganic binder and specially formulated particulate solid film lubricant pigments, it does not deteriorate at 1400°F for long periods of time and it aids in the removal of threaded fasteners.

Tiolon NFX-20 is a non-flammable PTFE lubricant designed for areas requiring release properties and low friction. Tiolon NFX-20 is an excellent release agent and is a superior dry film lubricant for use in injection mold applications. Tiolon NFX-20 can be used to lubricate aluminum anodize by impregnating itself to the oxide layer. This can be a great advantage to extend the wear life, corrosion and chemical resistance, and in addition provide excellent release characteristics. It is a low VOC, Reach compliant &amp; no greenhouse gasses.

Tiolube MZ-77 is low VOC, low friction, air cured corrosion resistant solid film lubricant similar to 20/20.

Alumazite ZY-138 is an aluminum filled corrosion inhibitive coating designed to prevent galvanic corrosion. It does not contain any chrome pigments. Alumazite ZY-138 has excellent adhesion to all metals and eliminates the commonly acknowledged dangers of hydrogen embrittlement, or diffusion stress cracking, as related to cadmium plating processes. Alumazite ZY-138 meets the requirements of NAS 4006, MIL-C-85614 and BMS 10-85.
