Identification & Functionality

Features & Benefits

Features
  • It is a dry, fine-grain silicate chemistry listed as US EPA Best Demonstrated Available Technology (BOAT) for stabilizing heavy metal wastes, such as lead (Pb).
  • This product is also extremely effective on cadmium, barium, zinc and copper contaminated waste streams.
  • Because of its effectiveness, it had been used successfully on thousands of tons of heavy metal contaminated soil.
  • Its chemistry has a proven long-term stability benefit.
  • You can apply it at low dose rates and have peace of mind knowing that the soil remediation waste will remain stable, always.
  • It is a derivative of the same chemical formulation as that found in our Blastox product.
  • Its smaller particle size provides more reactive surface which is beneficial when stabilizing heavy metals for contaminated soil remediation projects.
  • Due to the low dose rate and competitive pricing, it is becoming an effective resource for many engineers and also project managers.

Applications & Uses

Applications
Applicable Processes
Use
  • Dose rates vary based on untreated leachability rates.
  • Exact dose rates can be verified by performing a treatability study.
  • When resultant waste tests non-hazardous via the EPA TCLP test, it qualifies for disposal in a local subtitle D landfill.
Restrictions

Material must be kept dry until preparations are made for field application.
