Storage & Handling
- Storage Conditions
Non-Bulk Storage Recommendations: STEPGROW GP 101 should be stored in closed containers and kept in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of the SDS). STEPGROW GP 101 that has been stored in drums at low temperatures may thicken or solidify. Product may be fluidized by warming with a drum heater or in a steam room. If material is frozen it should be heated gently and stirred to ensure it is homogeneous prior to use. Drums should be vented prior to heating to avoid excessive pressure build up. Product temperatures over 120°F (48°C) are not recommended.
Bulk Storage Recommendations: STEPGROW GP 101 should be stored in vessels of 316 stainless steel and glass fiber-reinforced tanks. Heating and agitation are recommended for outside storage. Material should be stored between 80-100°F (26-38°C). An internal hairpin coil of 316 stainless steel with low pressure steam (under 50 psig) should be used if heating is required. Pumps, pipes and transfer lines should be 316 stainless steel. Many oven-cured phenolic and epoxy/phenolic linings may also be used. Elevated storage temperature may be desirable to maintain ease of pumping. Temperatures up to 120°F (48°C) can be maintained without degradation of the product.
