- STEPANOL AMV is an ammonium lauryl sulfate derived from fatty alcohol sulfated via Stepan’s continuous SO₃ process. This process allows the highest reproducibility in finished products because of the consistent quality of the surfactant.
- STEPANOL AMV can be used in a variety of detergent and personal care formulations and is ideal for acidic shampoo systems. STEPANOL AMV can be used in systems that require an excellent viscosity response and are sensitive to the presence of hydrotrope. It is an excellent choice for gel products. In addition, STEPANOL AMV will generate generous foam and is compatible with alkanolamides and amphoterics. STEPANOL AMV will give off an ammonia odor when the pH is alkaline.

Packaging & Availability
Storage & Handling
- Storage & Handling
- Normal safety precautions (i.e., gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling STEPANOL AMV. Contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling material.
- It is recommended that STEPANOL AMV be stored in sealed containers and kept at temperatures above 45°F (7°C). Avoid overheating or freezing. If material is frozen, mild heat and agitation are recommended to ensure the material is homogeneous before use.
- Bulk Storage Information: Tanks made of 316 stainless steel or fiberglass with an Atlac 382 corrosion liner are recommended. Gear pumps and piping should be 316 stainless steel. Recommended storage for bulk tanks is 90-125°F (32-52°C).
