- Clearances
The international inventories (country clearances) of POLYSTEP TSP-2580 can be found in Section 15 of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). It is the responsibility of the formulator to review the chemical control regulations for each country where the end-product is intended to be sold or used.
Safety & Health
- Health Effects
POLYSTEP TSP-2580 is expected to be practically nontoxic orally (LD₅₀ > 5000 mg/kg) and slightly irritating to the skin and eyes at 100% active.
Packaging & Availability
Storage & Handling
- Storage & Handling
- Normal safety precautions (e.g., gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling POLYSTEP TSP-2580. Contact with eyes, nose or prolonged contact with skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling POLYSTEP TSP-2580. See SDS for more information.
- Bulk Storage Recommendations: POLYSTEP TSP-2580 should be stored in vessels of 316 stainless steel or glass fiber-reinforced polyester tanks. Many oven-cured phenolic and epoxy/phenolic linings may be used. Elevated storage temperature may be desirable to maintain ease of pumping. Temperatures up to 130°F (54°C) can be maintained without degradation of the product.
- Non-Bulk Storage Recommendations: POLYSTEP TSP-2580 that has been stored closed containers and kept in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of SDS). When stored in drums at low temperatures, POLYSTEP TSP-2580 may thicken or solidify. Product may be fluidized by warming with a drum heater or in a steam room and remixed. Drums should be vented prior to heating to avoid excessive pressure build-up. Product temperatures over 130°F (54 °C) are not recommended. If material is frozen, it should be heated gently (do not exceed product temperatures over 130°F (54 °C)) and stirred to ensure it is homogeneous prior to use.
- Workplace Exposure
Occupational exposure can occur primarily through skin contact or via inhalation of vapors and mists. Engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and other workplace safety practices should be used to control these exposures. See SDS for more information.
