- Antioxidants prevent oxidative degradation during plastics processing. These are usually organic compounds that slow down or completely stop polymer degradation due to oxidation. Degradation in the form of discoloration, change in viscosity, surface crazing (fine crack on surface), and loss of physical, mechanical and optical properties can be avoided by the use of antioxidants.
- Such situations usually arise due to exposure of the polymer at elevated temperatures during processing or due to long-term exposure at normal processing temperature, in presence of atmospheric oxygen.
- These antioxidants can be classified as primary antioxidants and secondary antioxidants depending on their stabilizing effect in the life span of the polymer. They also protect the polymers from environment factors such as radiation, heat, humidity etc.
- Antioxidants can also address smell/color related issues in reprocessed plastics and help retain flow and mechanical properties of heat-sensitive virgin polymers, when used in different processing stages with various polymers.
- We offer a wide range of antioxidants for application in Cable industries, Reprocessing, filled compounds, Blow Molding, Pipes, BOPP films, Tapes, etc.
