"Southeastern Performance Minerals, LLC operates a state-of-the art muscovite mica facility that is based on our patents that cover the separation of mica from the sedimentary deposits of clay, sand, and mica that were deposited in our ancient Coastal Plain area millions of years ago. Our patents also cover the grinding of muscovite mica into a variety of high purity, high aspect ratio, low bulk density, mica products for numerous markets such as paint and other coatings, plastics, rubber, cosmetics, sealants, adhesives, and many other applications. Our unique processing and grinding technology, both dry and wet ground, were developed in-house and has several advantages over other mica grinding techniques.

Southeastern Performance Minerals, LLC also produces a full range of dry processed kaolin products in their sister plant Southeastern Primary Minerals located in Dearing, Georgia. This plant exploits primary kaolin similar to the deposits mined in England, France and Germany. The unique chemistry and particle morphology make these clays preferred for casting, ceramics, glaze and refractory applications."

Southeastern Performance Minerals CALflake B20 is a coarse flake, calcined mica product consisting of a high aspect ratio muscovite mica. Calcination of the mica at 900oC open the mica's naturally platy structure to enhance heat deflection characteristics, sound dampening effects, and produces a product that is stable at temperatures up to 1000oC.
