Solam AB was integrated in Lyckeby Starch AB in September 2018, the operations are carried out by the business unit Solam. SOLSPRAY PC are cationic potato starches available from DS 0.02. The Solspray products are used as spray starches in paper production. Solam spray starches improve the strength characteristics, especially the Z-strength and the Scott bond value, of the ready paper.

SOLBOND LC are cationic cook-up starches based on pea.The Solbond products are used as wet-end starches in the paper production. Solam wet-end starches improve the strength and printing characteristics of the ready paper and also contribute to improved retention, dewatering and runability at the paper machine.

SOLBOND LC

SOLSIZE are cationic cook-up starches with DS from 0.02 to 0.03 available with different viscosities.They are oxidized cook-up starches available with different viscosities and raw materials. The Solsize products are used in paper production in the surface application as surface sizing starch or as coating starch. The benefits of Solsize in surface sizing are excellent printing characteristics of the ready paper and improved barrier properties such as oxygen and fat barrier. Solsize in coating application contributes to excellent binder characteristics and water retention. The excellent properties of Solsize make cost reduction possible by replacing some parts of latex in coating formulations with Solsize.

SOLBOND PC are cationic cook-up starches based on potato.The Solbond products are used as wet-end starches in the paper production. Solam wet-end starches improve the strength and printing characteristics of the ready paper and also contribute to improved retention, dewatering and runability at the paper machine.

SOLBOND N are cold-water soluble cationic starches available from.The Solbond products are used as wet-end starches in the paper production. Solam wet-end starches improve the strength and printing characteristics of the ready paper and also contribute to improved retention, dewatering and runability at the paper machine.

SOLBOND N

SOLCOAT are hydroxypropylated starches available in different viscosities.The Solcoat products are used in paper production in the surface application as, for example, coating starch and surface sizing starch. The benefits of Solcoat are excellent binder characteristics, improved water retention as well as very good film forming properties. Solcoat make it possible  to reduce cost by replacing some parts of latex with Solcoat in coating formulations while maintaining printing characteristics. Solcoat can be used in top-coating as well as in pre-coating. Solcoat can also be used in different kinds of barriers. The Solcoat products have better storage stability than Solsize products. Solcoat products are available as cook-up starches
