Applemol PTIS Plus is multi-functional ingredient/system that reduces the difficulty of pigment grinding step in launching new color cosmetics to an easy & quick step. Applemol PTIS Plus delivers an amazing pigment dispersing capacity, better than castor oil and Polyglyceryl-2 Trisostearate and Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, which are popular castor oil alternatives for the preparation of color pigment dispersions (grinds) in color cosmetics. It grinds very well with both of the inorganic pigments and the organic pigments, which are either surface-coated or virgin, resulting in a very smooth, high pigment loading, flow able, and stable pigment dispersions. Fig.1 exhibits the viscosity of 45% Red # 7 organic pigment dispersions with the various emollients. Applemol PTIS Plus demonstrates its superior pigment wetting performance with the lower dispersion viscosity over castor oil and polyglyceyl-2 Triisostearate. Fig.2 is the Hegman Gage pictures of the above mentioned dispersion, which demonstrates that Applemol PTIS Plus dispersion is the smoothest with the lowest grinded particle size. Its benefits to the final color cosmetic formulation include stronger water resistance, longer wear, longer play time, even color distribution, reduced bleeding, etc.

Applemol PTIS Plus also provides the emollient benefits of Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate with a balanced and desirable texture profile - substantive, non-greasy, high shine, good lubricity and slip, some cushion, and rich after feel. It is very compatible with the common ester emollients, natural oils (such as sunflower seed oil, jojoba oils, etc.), hydrocarbon oils, and volatile silicone oils. It is also stable to heat and oxidation, and exhibits good odor and color stability, and water resistance. It can also help with reducing lipstick bleeding and improving color payoff.

These desirable features and benefits make it very suitable for developing good formulations of color cosmetic, hair care, and skin care. It is the ingredient of choice, especially, for color cosmetics of anhydrous or emulsion formulation, such as lip products, eye shadow, foundation, etc. where high gloss (shine), good pay-off, water-resistance, and bleed & rub-off resistance are required.
