Sogel has achieved a position of North American specialist in the innovation, formulation and development of high technology gel coats by offering a vast line of sophisticated and innovative products. For instance, we are pioneers in the development of gel coats for different styren free backing (polyurethane, epoxy and Twintex® technologies). Sogel Hybrathan™ Gel coats are developed from special unsaturated polyester resins combined with special additives. Hybrathan ™ Gel coats are easy to use. They can be used with any manual spray equipment. Unlike polyurethane gel coats, these gel coats have a better gloss retention (over 80%), no porosity and an affordable price.

Sogel Platinum Gel coats have been developed from a proprietary hybrid resin with high quality pigments and special additives. These gel coats offer outstanding paint-like weathering resistance, optimum crack resistance at demold and have blister and chlorine resistance superior to that of ISO/NPG gel coats. Platinum Gel coats require the use of a two component spray gun application system for the simultaneous application of the co-promoter RM-0018 Sogel.

Sogel Ortho Balcon Gel coats are developed from an ortho resin with high quality pigments and special to provide good weathering resistance. These gel coats have been formulated to be easily sprayable and have good application properties.

Sogel Aquaguard Shimmer Gel coats are developed from a proprietary ISO/NPG resin with high quality pigments and special additives. These gel coats provide excellent resistance to chlorine, blush/blister resistance, weathering resistance, and gloss retention. They have very good flexibility and crack resistance at demold.

Our General Purpose Laminating Resin has been developed from a polyester resin providing very good mechanic properties. Given their low to medium viscosity, they offer very good wetting of fiber glass. In addition Sogel’s General Purpose Laminating Resins have very good crosslinking and short “Tack Free Time”.

Sogel’s gel coats for interior applications have been developed from a special polyester resin Combined with high quality additives, provides optimum performance to manufacture interior parts. These gel coats offer a good surface finish and good physical properties. The fast and complete cure of our gel coats for indoor applications provide a glossy and uniform finished product, ideal for applications in the transport industry.

Sogel ISO/NPG Transportation Gel coat has been developed from a special ISO/NPG polyester resin. This, in combination with high quality additives, allows optimal performance for the manufacture of exterior pieces exposed to weather conditions. This Gel coat provides a permanent lustrous finish, an esthetic surface, and an intense color. Superior ultraviolet resistance and resistance to water penetration make it ideal for applications in the aeronautical and transportation industries.

Sogel Metallic Gel coats have been developed from a special polyester resin. This, in combination with high quality additives, allow optimal performance for the manufacture of exterior pieces with a metallic effect exposed to weather conditions. These gel coats provide a permanent lustrous finish, an esthetic surface, and an intense color. Excellent UV resistance, and resistance to osmosis make them ideal for applications in the aeronautical industry.

Sogel Weatherguard Gel coats have been developed from a special polyester resin This in combination with high quality additives, allows optimal performance for the manufacture of exterior pieces exposed to weather conditions. Sogel Weatherguard Gel coats provide a permanent lustrous finish, an esthetic surface, and an intense color.

The formulation of our high performance ISO/NPG Gel coats are based on a special ISO/NPG polyester resin. These products were developed to provide good durability and superior flexibility, while keeping high quality finish and minimal maintenance. The combination of neopentylglycol and isophtalic acid provides excellent resistance to water blistering and osmosis, excellent resistance to chlorine and to the UV light.
