It shows excellent antagonistic effect on melanin formation caused by endothelin. In the mid-1990s, skin physiologists discovered that after human skin was irradiated with ultraviolet (UVB), keratinocytes released endothelin. After the information of this endothelin was received by receptors on the melanocyte membrane, it stimulated the differentiation, proliferation and activation of melanocytes The activity of tyrosinase and thus melanin increases dramatically. Endothelin antagonists can regulate the information network function of endothelin and inhibit the growth of melanin.
