Step 1: Significantly Reduces Pro-inflammatory Marker IL-1α
Evaluation of the soothing effect of Beauté by Roquette® DE 006 at 2% and 5% on keratinocytes (2D): First, a positive control with 0.001% (sub cytotoxic concentration) of SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) is applied for 6 h. Then, the product is applied 20 hours and we measured the IL-1α expression after 26 hours.
*Significant difference versus SLS 0.001% (ANOVA then multiple comparison Dunnett, p value<0.05)
Step 2: Significantly Decreases Trans Epidermal Water Loss
Beauté by Roquette® DE 006 at 5% (in vivo, 60 volunteers, Male with sensitive skin, SLS patches test):
- Protects the skin from TEWL right after application due to a film forming effect & impact on IL-1α.
- Significantly reduces TEWL versus placebo after 7 days.
- Helps to maintain an efficient skin barrier function allowing to retain skin hydration.
Step 3: Significantly Decreases Skin Redness
Beauté by Roquette® DE 006 at 5% (in vivo, 60 volunteers, Male with sensitive skin, SLS patches test):
- Significantly reduces redness vs α-bisabolol after 10 minutes.
- Significantly reduces redness after 30 minutes and 7 days vs placebo.
* Significant versus α-Bisabolol p-value < 0.1
** Significant versus placebo p-value < 0.1
