DEK-Guard™ DEK-680 Wear Coat

DEK-Guard™ DEK-680 Wear Coat is a 100% reactive, hybrid blend of urethane acrylate and methyl methacrylate (MMA) designed to cure in an hour. DEK-680 is designed to be applied as the final layer of the deck coating system and is pigmented to match the body coat. DEK-680 has a medium viscosity and provides a high degree of protection from thermal, mechanical, chemical, and UV attack.

Identification & Functionality

Features & Benefits

Applications & Uses

Typical Uses

DEK-Guard DEK-680 Wear Coat provides the first line of protection against water, salt, and automotive fluids and protects the entire system by locking in the broadcast aggregate. The use of DEK-680 is most appropriate in environments where superior wear characteristics and chemical resistance are desired.

Cure Time

35-60 minutes.

Application of Materials

Surface Preparation:

Once DEK-675 Body Coat has fully cured and excess aggregate has been removed no additional surface preparation is required if applied immediately following the previous coat. If following a different application schedule, please contact your Res-Tek representative.

Application of Materials:

DEK-Guard DEK-680 Wear Coat is applied over properly cured DEK-675 Body Coat and owner approved silica sand using a 3/8” or 1/2 nap roller, chip brush, or flat squeegee at a rate of 60 – 70 sq. ft./gallon, or 22 – 27 mils. DEK-680 should be pigmented with 8 – 10 volume ounces of pigment per gallon of DEK-680. Pigment and BPO should be dispersed using a Res-Tek dispersing blade attached to a 2,500 rpm drill for 60 seconds. Refer to the DEK-Guard Powder Hardener (BPO) Dosing Chart for pigment and powder hardener (BPO) mixing rates.
