Application

SYNTHRO®-COMP 74 is especially designed to promote universal colorants acceptance in various types of water and solvent-based paints. Its performance is particularly noticeable with difficult binders such as Pliolite®, Plioway® and Urethane modified long oil alkyds, but also in current resin in emulsions used in water borne paints.

SYNTHRO®-COMP 74 compared to other coupling agent displays the following advantages:

  • Easy to disperse in the paint
  • No reduction of gloss
  • No tendency to give haze
  • Can be used in post addition to solve pigment shock.
  • FDA 175.300 approved
Method of Use and Amounts
  • SYNTHRO®-COMP 74 can be added at any stage during the paint production process.
  • In order to obtain optimum results, we recommend the addition of the additive before the dispersion/grinding process. This will increase the activity of the product and optimize the pigment wetting.
  • To improve color acceptance with tinting systems, it should be post-add in the pigmented base paint.
  • Amount to use vary from 0.5 to 2 % on total formulation.
