Through esterification, volatile fatty acids become protected against evaporation losses in feed processing (f.e. pelleting)

Compared to non-esterified fatty acids which are corrosive, esterified fatty acids are less harmful to operators/animals and easier to handle
pH INDEPENDENT
Compared to free fatty acids which require a low pH to be effective, esterified fatty acids are antimicrobial in a wide pH range corresponding to the pH profile of the entire intestinal tract
