- Features & Benefits
- Improves both physical & thermal stability, and improved fuel compatibility for 2020 fuels. PRI is number 1 for improving poor quality fuels worldwide. Thus, saving vessel owners hundreds of thousands of dollars in charter hire loss and de-bunkering costs.
- Recovered lost fuel value via significant sludge reductions.
- Improved combustion means reduced deposits on all engine components - PRI-STX ensures vessel engines maintain a higher level of operational efficiency. Reduced post combustion deposits while maintaining engine component cleanliness, especially at reduced operating loads. Soot & visible emissions improvements.
- Vast improvement in purification system so less work for crew on board.
- PRI-STX prevents severe stability & compatibility problems which can disable purifiers and result in costly vessel delays. PRI-STX is designed specifically for the new 2020 blended fuels.
- In terms of cost per mt treated and performance capability for the VLSFO, PRI-STX has no equal in the world today.
- PRI-SΤΧ is a highly complex blend of organic chemistries that, once blended with heavy fuel, will not stratify or separate, even with fuel purification. In fact, purification systems remain cleaner and more efficient when processing PRI-SΤΧ treated fuels.

Dosage Rate
PRI-SΤΧ is dosed at the 1:20,000 (one liter per 20 mt), regardless of fuel specifications under ISO 8217. It is recommended that for the first two months or two bunkerings of application, a dose rate of 1 liter per 15 mt is followed. When comingling different blends of VLSFO/HFO or problematic fuels, high TSP, etc. we recommend a dose rate of 1:10,000 (one liter per 10 mt). For severely out of spec fuel, fuel with very high TSP, or emergency situations on board, we recommend a dose rate of 1:5,000 (one liter per five mt).
Dosage Method
Power Research Inc. suggests that PRI-SΤΧ is highly miscible with VLSFO & HFO, so it must be added directly to tanks prior to bunkering. Agitation from fuel flow into the tank typically provides a sufficient mixture.
Properties
Regulatory & Compliance
- Quality Control
- PRI-SΤΧ is manufactured in accordance with strict, chemical manufacturing standards. Each blend is numbered, and a retain sample is FTIR tested against a laboratory standard to ensure optimal conformance.
- IMDG - Not classified as dangerous under IMDG regulation.
- IATA - Not classified as dangerous under IATA regulations.
