- Recommended Applications
Teraflow® 5300 is a polysiloxane copolymer used to increase slip and mar resistance of solvent based coatings. At extremely low levels of addition, Teraflow® 5300 produces a coating with a smooth film surface that is resistant to scratches and abrasions. It also improves flow and leveling, contributes to gloss and resists cratering and orange peel.
- Recommended Use Levels
Teraflow® 5300 provides excellent mar resistance and slip at very low levels of addition, ranging from 0.1% to 0.3% based on total weight of the paint. Teraflow® 5300 is incorporated into the finished coating system prior to the let-down stage.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Compatibility
Teraflow® 5300 is recommended for use in all types of solvent based coatings, including baking finishes and catalyzed coatings systems. Since Teraflow® 5300 increases the mar resistance and slip of solvent based coatings, producing a film with very low surface resistance, the formulator should evaluate the effect of the additive on intercoat adhesion and recoatability of the film, especially when high temperatures are used for curing.
