- Product Background
Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) is an anionic, water soluble, cellulose derivative with carboxymethyl groups. It works as a strong pellet binder to produce pellets with a superior durability and hardness at low inclusion levels.
- As pellet binder - It is best choice for duck feed to achieve superior Pellet Durability Index (PDI) and desired pellet hardness. Also to achieve water stability of shrimp pellets.
- For pet food - It can partially substitute blood plasma protein and / or carrageenan in the formula for cost reduction.
- For aquafeed - Achieve improved water stability, moisture and distribution of ingredients.
- Product Highlights
- As Pellet Binder
- Improves pellets integrity, durability and stability
- Reduces nutrient leaching and prevent fragmentation and abrasion of pellets during handling
- Effective at low inclusion levels
- Non-toxic at recommended inclusion levels
- Improve pellet quality in ruminant feed even with high fiber inclusion
- For Aquafeed
- Pellet binder for aquafeed
- Improves pellets integrity, durability and stability
- Reduces nutrient leaching and prevent fragmentation and abrasion of pellets during handling
- Highest water stability, recommended also for shrimp feed
- Effective at low inclusion levels
- Starch replacement in fish feed (salmon)
- Allows partial substitution of starch in the formula, releasing space for other nutrients critical for the nutritional value
- Pellet binder for aquafeed
- For Pet Food
- Moist foods
- Fast and efficient viscosity build up of gravy from coated kibbles
- Efficient thickening and water binding in canned pet food
- Improved binding of pate-like products
- Uniform distribution of fat and meat
- Keep feed freshness
- Cost efficient replacer to reduce blood plasma protein
- Semi-moist foods
- Excellent extrusion aid
- Even distribution of fine particles
- Dry foods
- Efficient thickening and water binding with reduced disintegration
- Moist holding
- Good texture
- Moist foods
- As Pellet Binder
- Product Benefits
As Pellet Binder
- Helps minimize production costs by reducing fines and dust (lower reprocessing costs)
- Nutritionally inert and does not react with nutrients in feed
- Supports easy handling and storing of feeds
- Offers flexibility of including high dust low cost feed ingredients to reduce feed formulation costs
- Dissolves easily in hot and cold water
- No effect on the smell and taste
For Aquafeed
- Helps minimize production costs by reducing fines and dust (lower reprocessing costs)
- Nutritionally inert and does not react with nutrients in feed
- Supports easy handling and storing of feeds
- Offers flexibility of including high dust low cost feed ingredients to reduce feed formulation costs
- No effect on the smell and taste
For Pet Food
- Sustainable, cost effective and reliable alternative to guar gum
- Improves texture and consistency
- Effective at low concentration
- Recommended as binder and extrusion aid
- Dissolves easily in hot and cold water
- No effect on the smell and taste
Applications & Uses
- Markets
- Applications
- Animal Species
- Inclusion Level
As Pellet Binder
- CMC is recommended at the rate of 0.5-1 kg per ton of feed depending on feed formulation and processing conditions.
As Starch Replacer
- 5 or 6 parts of starch can be replaced by 1 part of CMC. It can be used for this application up to 1%.
- Application
CMC is recommended to be added directly into the mixer. For best results, ensure accurate addition and thorough mixing of the product.
