NAP Eucalyptus Blue Gum Oil - Globulus

Eucalyptus globulus is the primary source of Eucalyptus oil around the world. Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globulus) belongs to the Myrtaceae family, an evergreen tree native to Australia. The natural distribution of the species includes Tasmania and southern Victoria. They typically grow from 30–55 m (98–180 ft) tall. The leaves are steam distilled to extract eucalyptus oil - one of the world’s most familiar essential oils and is the best known and most used of all eucalyptus oils with its refreshing and distinct aroma. As well as our popular Australian sourced oil, Eucalyptus globulus is also available sourced from China and single distilled from India.

Common Uses
  • Eucalyptus species have been used traditionally for supporting a healthy respiratory system and to soothe muscles after exercise. The eucalyptol found in the oil is responsible for many of the health benefits of the plant. It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and can be very helpful in the treatment of upper and lower airways diseases, such as asthma.
  • It is often used in diffusers, burners and inhalants for its fresh, stimulating aroma as well as its antiseptic and decongestive properties and is a powerful odor eliminator. It is used in massage blends to soothe muscles after use.
  • It is great in household cleaning products and is useful in removing stains and sticky residues and grease marks from clothing. The plant also contains tannins and phenolic compounds, ingredients used extensively in disinfectants.
  • It has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties
  • It also makes a highly effective insect repellent.
