- General Information
MiyoAQUA is a hydrophilic surface treatment based on alginate. This anionic polysaccharide is found naturally in oceans around the world in the cell walls of brown algae and kelp. Inorganic pigments such as iron oxide and pigmentary titanium dioxide surface treated with sodium alginate are highly hydrophilic and provide excellent dispersibility and re-dispersibility into the water phase. Formulation chemists are moving away from heavy feeling and moving toward light, fresh feeling personal care formulations. This dynamic trend lends itself to new, innovative O/W and water-based formulations including: “No Makeup, Makeup”, Ultra-Light Textures, Formulations that promote the benefits of water, and Make-up rituals of layering lighter textures.
