Features and Functions

Technical CMC 75a is divided into different types, which differ in the following parameters:

Purity: different salt contents
Viscosity: Measure of the viscosity of a fluid
Average degree of substitution: Average proportion of the etherified hydroxyl groups per polymer building block of cellulose (anhydroglucose) by a carboxymethyl group.

The parameters of the respective type described above determine the field of application, which is very versatile due to the properties and functions resulting from it.

Features:

  • Nontoxic
  • Thickening, binding (water etc.) and gelling
  • Emulsifying
  • Suspending
  • Surface active
  • Adsorptive
