Mallard Creek Polymers (MCP) is a privately held specialty chemical company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. We started as a manufacturer of styrene-butadiene latex emulsion and have grown steadily through a combination of customer focus and strategic acquisitions. Today we offer a diverse family of water-based polymers. These span acrylic, nitrile, styrene-acrylic, styrene-butadiene, vinyl acetate, vinyl acrylic, and vinyl acetate-ethylene emulsions as well as a range of rheology modifiers.

MCP water-based polymers are used in a wide range of industries. Markets include adhesives, nonwovens, paint, specialty coatings, graphic arts, printing and packaging, textiles, carpet, sealants, construction, oil services, and paper. We continue to find new markets and applications for our customers domestically and internationally.

Tykote 6160 is a flexible acrylic emulsion designed to provide a good balance of Cobb resistance, OGR, and MVTR properties from coatings made with it.
Films and coatings made from Tykote 6160 also have good flexibility. Tykote 6160 demonstrates the ability to be applied via all typical methods used to apply barrier coatings, including rod, blade, and flexo or gravure presses.

Tykote® 6160

Rovene 6026 is a styrene-acrylic emulsion polymer that can be formulated in multiple coating and paint applications. It provides a strong film at room temperature for use in low sheen interior flat wall paints. This product allows the formulator to minimize the level of coalescent. Rovene 6026 can also be used in outdoor landscaping coatings due to the adhesion characteristics and compatibility with iron oxide dispersions.

Rovene 4220 is a non-carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion recommended for use in formulations directed at contact or cold seal applications. Rovene 4220 can also be used in architectural adhesives including many types of flooring adhesives and special contact adhesives.
Rovene 4220 can be used as a polychloroprene and natural latex extender if properly formulated. When working with Rovene 4220, it is important to remember that it may be tackified, thickened and blended with other non- carboxylated and carboxylated emulsions. This flexibility allows for the formulation of a wide variety of adhesives with custom performance properties.

Rovene 6023 is an all acrylic emulsion suggested as a polymer modifier for hydraulic cementitious mixtures for repair, basecoats for EIFS, decorative overlays and tile grouts or mortars. Addition of 5 - 15% (d/d Portland cement) improves flexibility, strength and water resistance.
Rovene 6023 in portland cement mixtures results in increased adhesion to most substrates, improved water resistance, increased flexural strength and good resistance to UV light. Rovene 6023 does not contain antifoam. The addition of an effective antifoam is generally required to avoid a high air content in the hydraulic cementitious mixture. Many antifoam products have been found effective at levels of 2.5% wet on wet by mass.

Rovene 4100 is a styrene-butadiene emulsion polymer recommended for use for boxboard coating, in some publication grade papers and in the adhesive industry. Rovene 4100 may be used in adhesive and paper coating applications where FDA clearance is needed.

Rovene 4125 is a styrene-butadiene emulsion polymer recommended for applications where a primer-sealer that provides adhesion between asphalt and other various surface treatments is needed. Rovene 4125 has been used in recreational surface applications such as tennis court and running track coatings.

Rovene 4111 is a high glass transition temperature styrene-butadiene emulsion designed to provide additional opacity in inks, specifically inks formulated with titanium dioxide.
Rovene 4111 was designed with a specific particle size that greatly improves the spacing between titanium dioxide particles resulting in increased opacity. Additionally, using Rovene 4111 may allow a formulator to reduce the level of titanium dioxide in an ink formulation.

Rovene 6502 is a high solids, acrylic emulsion designed for formulation of PSA and packaging adhesives It can be used neat or blended with a variety of polymer emulsions, dispersed tackifiers, and fillers to yield performance characteristics that meet specific requirements. Rovene 6502 may also have application in vinyl flooring adhesives due to its plasticizer migration resistance.

Rovene 6104 is a very soft, film forming vehicle that provides good water and rub resistance for flexographic and gravure inks and overprint varnishes. Rovene 6104 can be used as the film forming component in overprint varnish formulations or as the sole vehicle for inks and overprint varnishes providing good gloss. The emulsion can also be used as the non-skid component in formulations. Because of the low glass transition temperature, Rovene 6104 has good adhesion to treated flexible films. Inks and overprint varnishes formulated with Rovene 6104 can be formulated with graphic arts industry standard products and additives.

Tylac 4193 is a soft, flexible styrene-butadiene concrete modifier. It may be used at low add-on to give strength, flexibility and water/ion resistance to cementitious systems. At higher add-on levels, Tylac 4193 provides a flexible cementitious water proofing membrane.

Tylac 873 is a carboxylated acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer emulsion. Addition of 2 to 10 % (dry/dry solids) in anionic asphalt emulsions improves low temperature flexibility and reduces high temperature tack. Tylac 873 also improves strength and chemical resistance.
