- A line of natural and pure biosurfactants delivering unmatched performance, High purity and TSCA approved
- Biosurfactants are a category of biobased surfactants created without any chemical manipulation. These organic molecules are produced by living microorganisms and lower surface tension between liquids to improve water movement. They provide unmatched health, safety and environmental benefits.
- Amphi® M ingredients are fermentation-produced, TSCA-approved biosurfactants which utilize the unique properties of sophorolipids (SLP) a type of biosurfactant in the glycolipid class. Now, Locus PI has perfected another natural fermentation route to bring these SLP biosurfactants to market.
- Sophorolipids are not just biosurfactants—they are versatile, multifunctional green ingredients with multiple properties and areas of applications that are not achievable by chemical counterparts.

- Lower CMC (critical micelle concentration)
- Better surface tension reduction
- Surface active agent and emulsifier
- Improved foaming performance
- Higher grease removal efficacy
- Mild and reduces damage caused by legacy surfactants
- Very low aquatic toxicity
- Higher efficacy / lower dosage
- Competitive cost-in-use
- Safer – biodegradable, non-toxic
- Active at broad pH ranges (2 – 10)
- Product Formulation Performance
- Wetting: Promotes excellent spreading through contact angle reduction and a low CMC.
- Emulsifier: Low HLB and High HLB ingredients allow for matched-pair blending.
- Dispersant: Supports small particle size and micro-nutrient particles.
- Versatile: Hard water, salty water, cold water pH stability for in-tank and in-can use in the field.
- Coalescing Agent: Can be used in low concentrations with no negative impact on coating properties.
- Multifunctional: The ester portion brings solvency and can be blended with the acid version increasing detergency.
- Ester Solvent: Promotes the cleaning of process oils
- Biobased: Potential for removing ethylene-oxide based surfactants from water treatment process.
- Cleansing: Strong solvency and detergency properties for removal of process materials.
- Inverter: High HLB Amphi CH may promote inversion and speed flockin.
- Solubilizer: Can break biofilms, releasing them for treatment faster.
