Laurel Products was founded in 2001 by Michael Coates, PhD. After validating a unique processing method, a patent was issued that encompassed a means of pinning hydrophilic molecules on the surface of fluoropolymers. Essentially, it made the hydrophobic fluoropolymer hydrophilic, thereby aiding its dispersion into aqueous and other polar solvents. This concept eventually was commercialized to become the Laurel product grade known as Ultraflon UF-8TA.

The success of UF-8TA reinforced the fact that there was a market need for more highly developed, customized additives. Clearly, off-the-shelf solutions were not solving the market demands for innovative additives. Additives were needed that pushed the performance envelope. Embracing this concept of innovative additives, Laurel Products was formed and has grown steadily ever since due to its competitive pricing, performance-driven product developments, and best-in-class service levels.

Whether through thermal treatment to improve stability, vibratory processing to improve the particle morphology, or a secondary densification step to improve particle density, Marzon branded additives offer uniquely desirable characteristics. Essentially, they are the tried and true Ultraflon products you already know, subjected to secondary processing enhancements. The result? Marzon

Ultraflon AD-10 are colloidal aqueous dispersions of PTE particles of stabilized with environmentally-conscious, non-PFOA surfactants. Ultraflon AD-IO is a homopolymer dispersion made up of nanometric-sized PTFE particles suspended in purified water. The PTFE solids comprise 60% by weight. The morphology of the PTFE nanoparticles is spherical. The dispersion is engineered to exhibit a very narrow particle size distribution, yielding consistent, uniform performance.

Ultraflon AD-10

Marzon Z-2 is a comonomer—modified PTFE micropowder, providing unique thermal characteristics. The lower molecular weight of this PTFE polymer in combination with the comonomer provides greater tractability and some melt flow characteristics, in contrast to a PTFE homopolymer micropowder. As an additive in coatings, it imparts higher gloss, and promotes continuous film development when compared with other fluoropolymer additives. Yet it retains the chemical resistance characteristics for which PTFE is renowned.

Marzon Z-2

Ultraflon AD-10A are colloidal aqueous dispersions of PTFE particles, stabilized with environmentally-conscious, PFOA-free surfactants. Ultraflon AD-I OA is a dispersion made up of nanometric-sized PTFE particles suspended in purified water, with a proprietary additive to improve adhesion to substrates such as glass, plastic, and metal. The PTFE solids comprise approximately 60% by weight. The dispersion is engineered to exhibit a very narrow particle size distribution, yielding consistent, uniform performance. The resulting film formation from AD-IOA may be considered semi-permanent due to the proprietary adhesion-promoting chemistry.

Marzon 110 is a premium, loosely agglomerated PTFE additive. Marzon 110 offers a uniquely spherical primary particle morphology. The product is designed to be friable, which means it breaks down to its primary particle size under low shear. The mean primary particle size is 250 nanometers, while the secondary particle size is 500 microns on average.

Ultraflon MP-30 is a granular-based PTFE powder additive, and is characterized by its proven versatility in a broad spectrum of applications. It an average particle size of 5 microns, and is exhibits a very narrow spread about the mean. As a result, it demonstrates unparalleled uniformity and repeatability in performance. Laurel's exacting manufacturing process ensures that the molecular weight of MP-30 is extremely resulting in unsurpassed consistency in performance.

Marzon X-55 utilizes Laurel's proprietary thermal particle polishing processing technique. This results in a remarkably uniform particle with uniquely high powder bulk density. As a result, the flow and handling characteristics of Marzon X-55 surpass those of other standard PTFE micropowders. Because of its high particle density, in many cases greater efficacy can be achieved at lower mass loadings when compared to standard additives

Ultraflon FP-20 series represent premium, fluorinated ethylene-propylene powder (FEP) additives. FP-20 is characterized by comparatively lower molecular weight. It demonstrates the highest melt flow index (MFI) when compared to other grades within the Ultraflon FP series additives. FP-20 is manufactured from ultra-high purity FEP, and micronized in clean room conditions to preserve its pristine form.

Marzon 638 is a polysiloxane-infused PTFE micro powder, providing a unique hybrid of fluoropolymer and silicone. The silicone network within the PTFE provides improved compatibility with various polymer-based coating systems. As an additive in coatings, it imparts higher gloss and lower coefficient of friction when compared with other fluoropolymer additive .It is particularly well suited for fiberglass or fiberglass-containing substrate

Ultraflon DF-20A are premium PTFE dispersions based on an ultra-high purity Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) carrier. The solids content of DF-20A is 25%. This colloidal dispersion contains a proprietary additive to improve adhesion to substrates such as glass, plastic, and metal. The primary particles of PTFE have a nanometric particle size, and are engineered to have a spherical The has an exacting, narrow particle size distribution, which translates into consistent, uniform DF-20A is not made with the PFOA surfactant. The resulting film formation from DF-20A may be considered due to the proprietary adhesion-promoting chemistry.
