Anionic surfactants are negatively charged materials that are available in a variety of chemical types. The main classes being alkyl ether sulfates, alkyl sulfates, alkylbenzene sulfonates, alpha olefin sulfonates, phosphate esters. They are used in a wide range of applications where they provide useful characteristics including, emulsification, solubilisation, wetting, detergency, dispersion and foaming.

Nonionic surfactants carry no electrical charge and are available in a variety of chemical types. The main classes are alcohol ethoxylates, alcohol ethoxylates/propoxylates, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymers, castor oil ethoxylates, amine ethoxylates, fatty acid esters and their ethoxylates. They are used in a wide range of applications where they provide useful characteristics including  emulsification, solubilisation, wetting, dispersion, detergency, foaming and defoaming.

Emulsion concentrates (EC) formulations rely on effective emulsifiers to produce spontaneous stable emulsions providing rapid and uniformed dispersion in the spray tank. Lankem offers a broad range of single emulsifiers for use in the formulation of EC’s plus a range of mixed pair emulsifiers that greatly reduce the complexity of producing an effective emulsifier system.

These products can be used in many applications and perform against standard synthetic nonionics such as commonly used alcohol ethoxylates. Lansurf AEP66 is a biodegradable nonionic surfactant produced by the reaction of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide on a synthetic primary fatty alcohol. This product is compatible with soaps, anionic, cationic and other nonionic surfactants, and wetting, detergency and low foam. This product finds application in many cleaning applications where low foaming is required such a machine dishwash applications, metal cleaning and bottle rinse formulations. Also, this product can be used in such areas as textiles, oils and lubricants, agrochemicals and paints and polymers.

Agrosurf BPE211 is a traditional balanced pair emulsifier used in conjunction with Agrosurf BPE148 to produce excellent emulsifiable concentrates once the correct ratio of the two emulsifiers has been established.

Agrosurf WP35 is a formulated nonionic system that has been designed to offer the optimum wetting characteristics for a range of agrochemical applications. Due to its nonionic nature its compatible with anionic, nonionic, cationic and amphoteric surfactants.

Lansperse BIO691 is part of our new range of powerful dispersing agents containing components that are from renewable sources. Unlike many bio-based surfactants, this product offers excellent wetting and dispersing properties for a wide range of inorganic and organic pigments and powders. One of the main characteristics that make them different from conventional dispersing agents is how they can attach to a particle substrate. Conventional dispersing agents tend to be linear in structure and attach with one hydrophobe group. The BioLoops are different in the respect that they have two hydrophobes that attach onto a particle substrate making it twice as effective as a conventional dispersing. What makes this particular product unique is the ability to disperse particles in both aqueous and solvent-based mediums. An aqueous dispersion manufactured using Lansperse BIO691 can be incorporated in both solvent and aqueous based paints without any detriment to performance. This property is useful for universal tinters whilst also useful for formulators that want a multi-functional dispersing agent.

Kemsurf OT60 is a very effective wetting agent and can be used in many different application areas where wetting of a substrate or particle is essential. This product is also used in emulsion systems and as a co-dispersant in conjunction with other nonionics.
