- Lansurf SMS, Sorbitan Mono Stearate, is used in many application areas particularly in food contact applications
- This product is also found to be readily biodegradable and would not expect to persist indefinitely in the environment
- Lansurf SMS can be used singularly are also in combination with the ester ethoxylates such as Lansurf SMS60
- Typically this product is extremely hydrophobic and finds use as an emulsifier in many waxes and creams for household and personal care applications
- Used in combination with the ethoxylates, Lansurf SMS is used in textiles, leather treatment, silicone oils and agrochemicals

Storage & Handling

Stainless steel, polyethylene or glass lined equipment is necessary for the storage of Lansurf SMS in order to prevent corrosion and subsequent contamination. This material can separate on standing and at low temperatures. May require agitation and warming prior to use.
