- Advantages
- Contains cationic inhibitors with surface-active character. This results in a reduction of the surface tension, which leads to an immediate wetting of the surfaces to be cleaned.
- This reduces the time until the start of the dissolution process of the deposits to be removed.
- Furthermore, oily contaminants are emulsified, dirt particles are dispersed and subsequent rinsing processes are facilitated.
- Advantages of LITHSOLVENT Cleaning Concentrates
LITHSOLVENT cleaners are intended for customers who do not have the option to prepare their own cleaning solutions. Generally, they are inhibited methanesulfonic, formic, hydrochloric, amidosulfonic, citric and phosphoric acids, formulated for different cleaning temperatures and materials.

- Applications
- LITHSOLVENT OT is a highly efficient inhibitor formulation for the protection of usual metallic materials in the boiler and plant construction as well as for apparatus and tubing during the chemical cleaning with acid solutions (formic acid and phosphoric acid). The dissolution of scales and incrustations will not be impaired.
- LITHSOLVENT OT inhibits the corrosion of common steels.
- Acid solutions inhibited with LITHSOLVENT OT are used:
- at the chemical cleaning with formic acid and phosphoric acid solutions to remove rust, mill scale and magnetite (Fe3O4) from boilers, production plants, piping systems a.s.o. according to the circulation or once-through procedure.
- at the chemical cleaning of boilers, pipings a.s.o. with formic acid and phosphoric acid.
- LITHSOLVENT OT contains cationic inhibitors with surfactant character.
- A quick wetting of the surfaces to be cleaned is ensured by reducing the surface tension. Consequently the period until the beginning of the dissolution process of the sedimentations to be removed is reduced.
- Furthermore, oily contaminations are emulsified, dirt particles are dispersed and subsequent rinsing procedures are facilitated.
- Addition and Dosing
- It is recommended to prepare the cleaning solution in a separate tank at the indicated concentration and then to fill it into the system.
- In general the dosing rate amounts to 2.5 kg LITHSOLVENT OT/m3 diluted acid. The duration of action of the inhibited acid should not exceed 6 hours.
- After acidification the cleaned boilers and plants should be carefully rinsed with water.
- Avoid open fire and light in the environment of the plant to be cleaned. Rooms with open installations have to be well aerated during the treatment.
- LITHSOLVENT OT is stable in concentrated formic acid. It can therefore be produced inhibited parent formic acid.
- Areas of Application
Evaporators, steam boilers, heat exchangers, piping systems and all kinds of heat engineering equipment.
- Coverings
Inorganic scale such as calcium carbonate, calcium oxalate, silicates, occasionally phosphates, aconates, citrates, depending on water use, also sulfates or organic coatings.
- Examples / Best Practice
Suitable for the production of inhbred parent acids.
- Protection Applications
Depending on the acid and material LITHSOLVENT OT offers appropriate inhibitors for effective protection of your plant.
