IRASORB functional Additives are shaping the performance of polymers and plastics. These near infrared absorbing materials and laser marking additives are not only largely responsible for the optical appearance but also influence the technical properties of the polymer-based products.

Our Superlite range includes the most versatile grades of tin oxide that we produce at Keeling & Walker. A consistent raw material quality and rigorous analytical control of its chemical and physical properties is the key to Superlite’s high performance in various applications.

IRASORB BITO, the blue Indium Tin Oxide shows higher electrical conductivity and higher absorption in near infrared light compared to the yellow version, which makes it useful for coatings, inks and polymeric films.

FTO is an off-white powder with good electrical conductivity. It easily forms opaque dispersions, which are used for conductive coatings on glass as semi-transparent heating areas or for electrodes in solar cells.

The StanoStat CP range of antimony tin oxides (ATO) combine semi-conductive properties with a very light gray colouration. Compared to other ATO grades, where the blue shade is dominant, the StanoStat CP grades offer great variation in the coloring of the finished product.

STANOSTAT CP 8C

The laser direct structuring process allows the manufacturing of electronic equipment directly onto a 3-dimensional polymeric or ceramic substrate without the use of a printed circuit board. Generating the electrical circuitry directly onto the polymer or ceramic part allows a high packing of electronic components and helps to miniaturize the parts. LDS additives, for example our StanoStat CP5C, are incorporated directly into the polymer. After injection molding, the resulting part is marked with a laser engraving the circuit onto the surface. This then undergoes metallisation. The metal is only deposited on the areas that have been marked by the laser. Thereafter, the components can be mounted.

StanoStat A20W is an aqueous colloidal dispersion of antimony-doped tin oxide. It may be used to produce transparent coatings with anti-static or static-dissipative properties. It may also be used for near-infrared absorbing coatings or polymers.

Modern gas sensor materials rely on doped tin oxides as detector materials, which show excellent responses to several gasses. Doped tin oxides with tailored precious metal loadings are available. Keeling &amp; Walker offers tailored tin oxides with specific particle size distributions for the deposition of sensor materials via inkjet printing or coating processes.

Despite the fact that Indium Oxide is a rare Oxide, it finds many uses in High Tech Industries. Indium Oxide is a key component of sputtering targets for thin film applications. Its property as reflector for Near Infrared Light is exploited in optical coatings and specialty mirrors. Furtheron Indium Oxide finds use in Electrical Contact Materials and Sensor Materials. Keeling&amp;Walker manufactures a high purity (&gt; 99.99%) grade. The Oxide consists of agglomerated nanoscale particles with an average primary particle size of 20 – 40 nm.
