Basfiber® is close to and sometimes outperforms high strength glass and other specialty fibers but beats them price wise.
Basalt fiber offered by different manufacturers is produced from basalt rock of different chemical compositions, and various technologies are used for its production. This means that the properties of basalt fiber can significantly differ depending on the manufacturer.



Kamenny Vek uses large-sized bushings for a full-scale production of high quality, inexpensive 1200- and 2000-tex single-end roving. That is technically impossible for the technology of fiber production at single- or two-module furnaces, used by all other manufacturers of basalt fiber in the world. In the very near future we will start production of 2400-tex single-end roving."

Kamenny Vek BCS 13-1/4”-KV13 is a hydrophobic sizing. It is recommended for different technologies of concrete/cement reinforcement.

Kamenny Vek BCF 13-150-KV42 direct is the newest modification of the KV12 sizing with improved performance and increased alkali resistance. Basalt roving of this series is mainly recommended for pultrusion technology and for processing into woven fabrics, UD tapes, multiaxial fabrics, prepregs and other products based on phenolic and epoxy resins.

Kamenny Vek BCS 13-1/4”-KV02M is mainly recommended for friction material production using phenolic resin and for production of compounds by extrusion process with polyamide, polypropylene, polyethylene or high density.

Kamenny Vek BCS 13-1/4”-KV05/1 is a hydrophilic sizing. Basalt chopped strand of this series disperses by filaments in water media. It is mainly recommended for wet laid nonwoven mats and veils production, as well as for concrete reinforcement.
