CalTech is used primarily when other lubricant options are not available due to the presence of divalent brines in significant concentrations. Recommended for use when problems due to frictional resistance of metal to metal contact are anticipated in coiled tubing or drilling operations. CalTech should be mixed using metered additions into the fluid system at 1.0 – 5.0 gallons per thousand or as needed or in sweeps for immediate lubrication.
