For a healthy calf, the first few weeks of life are particularly important because the maternal protection provided by colostrum may be insufficient, while the animals have not yet formed a fully functioning immune system. Pathogens such as bacteria and viruses therefore have the possibility to colonize the gastrointestinal tract reducing the absorption of nutrients. This often drastically affects the development of the animals and can even threaten their survival.

The results of several studies show that 25 grams of InMuPro twice a day, from day 4 to day 8 of life (5 days of treatment), considerably increases the daily weight gain of growing calves (130 g/day more).
