IB Acrylic FG is used as a flashing material for most substratesand as a sealant on fasteners, seams, and penetrations on metalroofs in conjunction with 3 course application and is compatiblewith IB Acrylic base coats and finish coats. Can be applied overmost substrate types.

Approximate coverage rate is 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet (24 wetmils) per pass depending on substrate type and roughness. Yield (1 gal/100 sq. ft.) = 16 wet mils/10 dry mils.

Application Equipment
Airless Sprayer:
Brush: No reduction necessary. Use synthetic filament brushes. Donot over-brush as material may start to pull.
Roller: No reduction necessary. Use 1-1/4” nap synthetic rollers.Keep a wet edge to avoid pulling. Avoid rapid rolling which can causebubbling.
Mixing
No thinning or reduction is necessary.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be free of areas of ponding water, ice, snow, rain or dew, dirt, dust, grease, oil, foreign contaminants or other debris that would inhibit adhesion of coating. If such conditions exist, the roof surfaces should be properly prepared and cleaned using the specified IB cleaning solution in order to receive the new coating system. Mildew must be removed by power washing and scrubbing with a bleach solution of 1 part bleach and 2 parts water. Repeat if necessary. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Most substrates require a compatible primer to be applied prior to the application of the coating. Contact IBRS Technical Department at 800- 426-1626 for recommendations regarding specific applications. Verify that all drains, fasteners, flashings, penetrations, perimeter edges, seams, scuppers, and other areas of intended application are secure and watertight. Note: Any condition that is not secure or watertight will require a 3 course application of IB Acrylic FG and IB Fabric.

• Fasteners: Tighten or replace all fasteners as necessary. In no case shall joints of seams be allowed to separate greater than 1/16 inch. Stitch screw any large gaps over overlaps that cause greater than 1/16 inch opening. Apply IB Acrylic FG over the fastener to completely encapsulate the screw (approximately a 1-inch circle). Allow to dry for least 4 hours before proceeding with coating application.
• Seams: Seal all field seams and flashings by applying IB Acrylic FG at the rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 sq. ft. (24 wet mils) over the seam and feather in with a chip brush to an approximate width of 6” wide. Embed 4” wide IB Fabric into the wet coating and brush or roll to be wrinkle free. Apply another layer of IB Acrylic FG over the IB Fabric at the rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 sq. ft. (24 wet mils) to completely encapsulate the fabric. The coating must be feathered at least 1” beyond each side of the fabric to allow water to flow over the seam. Seal all penetrations etc. by applying IB Acrylic FG in a 2” wide bead over the seam and feather in with a chip brush to an approximate width of 3” wide. Achieve a smooth 24 wet mil application over the treatment area. Allow to dry for least 24 hours before proceeding with coating application.
• Drying: Allow to dry for least 24 hours before proceeding with coating application.
• Adhesion Test: Adhesion of the IB Acrylic FG should always be checked. Apply 6” – 12” square of the sealant and embed a piece of IB Fabric into the coating, leaving a minimum 2” tail of the fabric exposed. Allow 2-3 days for the coating to cure and perform a 90° pull test of the fabric tail to test adhesion of the sealant to the substrate

• Refer to Substrate Preparation guidelines for proper preparation,cleaning and primer roof with any applicable bond enhancing primer before commencing with application of IB Acrylic Coatings.
• This product cures by water evaporation only. Do not attempt toapply product when weather conditions are not conducive to drying.Refer to temperature and relative humidity precautions.
• Application of materials with power spray equipment will requiringsome masking and erection of wind screens to prevent over sprayoccurrences and damage to surrounding structures, surfaces,vehicles, property or persons.

Clean up spills and spatters immediately with water. Clean all tools with
