Masterbatch is a new coloration product of plastics and fibers developed in the 1960s. It is a polymer compound made by uniformly loading pigment into resin. The color masterbatch is mainly composed of colorant, carrier and dispersant. It is beneficial to maintain the chemical stability of the pigment. If the pigment is used directly, the pigment will absorb water and oxidize due to the direct contact with the air during the storage and use. After the color master is made, the quality of the pigment can remain unchanged for a long time due to the isolation of the pigment from the air and water by the resin carrier.
Optical whitener OB-1 is a kind of optical brightener for masterbatch. It’s also a good optical brightener for PP masterbatch. It has good dispersion and coloring power. It’s non-toxic, and has good weather resistance ability for outdoor used PP masterbatch.
