Polyethylene (PE) is one of the five major synthetic resins, which has the largest production capacity and the largest import volume in China. Polyethylene is mainly divided into linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE). Film is its main processing products, followed by sheet and coating, bottles, cans, barrels and other hollow containers and other injection and blow molding products, pipes and wires, cable insulation and sheath. Mainly used in packaging, agriculture and transportation departments.
In the actual production process of PE plastics, plastic manufacturers will add a small amount of plastic additives in order to improve the stability of PE plastics to ultraviolet and oxidation, and to improve processing and use performance. There are some optical brighteners for polyethylene, or called fluorescent brightener, which can absorb the invisible ultraviolet light in natural environment and transfer into visible blue light. The blue light superposed with the yellow light of the polymer itself, and make human eye see a whiter and brightener appearance of the finished product. OB-1 is a kind of optical whitening agent which is very suitable for polyethylene, especially can be used to produce whiter and brightener PE film.
