Resin Film Infusion
- Components can be manufactured from dry fiber/fabric preforms and HexPly® M36 film, or semi-preg, using the RFI (resin film infusion) technique.
- A typical lay-up and bagging arrangement for a flat laminate is shown.
- High quality parts can be produced both by application of pressure (3-5 bar) using conventional autoclave techniques or by use of vacuum only.
- Full matrix cure is achieved after 2 hours at 180 °C, following a heat-up from ambient at 2-5 °C/min.
- Alternatively, a cure cycle of 3 hours at 130 °C, followed by a free-standing post cure of 2 hours at 180 °C may be used without performance or quality detriment.
- When heating directly to 180°C it may be beneficial to incorporate a dwell of 30-60 mins at 130 °C,dependent upon part complexity or thickness.

Storage & Handling
- Storage Life
Out-life at 23 °C of HexPly® M36 film/prepreg 14 days
Guaranteed shelf life at -18 °C 12 months (maximum, from date of manufacture)- Storage
HexPly® M36 prepregs should be stored as received in a cool dry place or in a refrigerator. After removal from refrigerator storage, prepreg should be allowed to reach room temperature before opening the polythene bag, thus preventing condensation. (A full reel in its packaging can take up to 48 hours).
