Technical Details & Test Data
- Mechanism of Action
This micro-algae is a mixture of oligosaccharides and trace elements which stimulate expression of the gene coding for the protein responsible for smooth muscle vessel contraction (endothelin-I), in the capillaries, thereby inducing a constriction and an improvement of micro-circulation. By improving vascular tone, it corrects skin dysfunctions such as rosacea, as well as heavy leg syndrome.
- Scientific Process
SILIDINE® stimulates the expression of the endothelin-1 gene (ET-1) and hence the synthesis of this protein by endothelial cells (and fibroblasts) in the capillaries. The binding of ET-I to the surface receptors (ETA and ETB2) of smooth muscle cells induces a signal that diffused from the outside to the inside of the cell membrane and activates several effectors, ultimately leading to vasoconstriction, thus improving vascular tone.
• ET-1: Endothelin-1
• ETA: Endothelin-1 receptor, sub-type A
• ETB2: Endothelin-1 receptor, sub-type B2
G: Protein G
• PLC: Phospholipase C
• PIP: Phosphatidyl inositol• DAG: 1,2-diacylglycerol
• IP3: Inositol 1,4,5 - trisphosphate
• CaM: Calmodulin
• MLCK: Myosin Light Chain Kinase
LC: Light myosin Chains
• P-LC: Phosphorylated Light myosin Chains- Transcriptomic Analysison DNA Chip
SILIDINE® stimulates the expression of the gene coding for endothelin-1, and hence the synthesis of this protein responsible for vascular smooth muscle contraction.
- Production
Obtained from the red alga Porphyrium cruentum by the metabolic induction technique.
The Porphyrium cruentum culture is subjected to oxidative stress resulting from an increase in oxygen levels by photosynthesis in the culture medium. Faced with this oxidative stress, the alga adapts its own metabolism to the changing environmental conditions, reacts, synthesizes various molecules of interest such as oligosaccharides and converts the trace elements present in the medium.
- Proven Efficacy - In Vivo Tests
EFFECT ON REDNESS
• SILIDINE® reduced facial redness by 19%.The reduction was visible in 86% of volunteers3% SILIDINE® (liquid) / 28 days / Double blind / 14 volunteers Twice-daily application
Note: * p<0.05
SILIDINE® improves vascular tone and helps to reduce the effects of rosacea such as redness.
EFFECT ON HEAVY LEG SYNDROME
• Variation in micro-circulation in 36% of volunteers*Note: * 1% SILIDINE® (powder) / 28 days / 22 volunteers Twice-daily application
SILIDINE® improves vascular tone and helps to reduce heavy legs syndrome.
• SELF-EVALUATION TEST*
More than 70% of volunteers observed an improvement in:
> tired legs sensation
> heavy legs syndromeOverall evaluation immediately after applying 1% SILIDINE®
