Fluoraz® is formulated to work under the extreme pressures, temperatures and “sour fluids” found in deep well drilling. Fluoraz withstands high-pressure cycling. Because of Fluoraz’s low gas solubility, high modulus of elasticity and high shear tear strength, it resists rapid gas decompression.

Fluoraz #790 is an Aramid fiber-filled compound specially formulated for downhole Vee Rings. Fluoraz #790 works well in high-pressure applications due to its relative hardness (65 Shore D).

Chemraz® is a member of the perfluoroelastomer polymer family—polymers of three or more monomers in which all hydrogen positions have been replaced with fluorine. This complete state of fluorination results in outstanding resistance to heat and most chemicals and solvents. The principle monomer of
Chemraz is tetrafluoroethylene (TFE); the proprietary second and third perfluorinated monomers are unique to it and confer the balance of the properties it demonstrates. Chemraz’s resistance to steam and significantly improved low temperature properties are it’s hallmark.

Chemraz—the ultimate elastomer for demanding oilfield applications—gives excellent sealing performance when exposed to mixes of aggressive chemicals found downhole and is often specified by operators. Special compounds have been formulated for improved resistance to rapid gas decompression and abrasion, giving significant reductions in downtime and maintenance.

Xyfluor® elastomers are highly fluorinated and combine excellent chemical compatibility with low-temperature capability. Performing in temperatures as low as -76°F (-60°C), Xyfluor resists aggressive media such as sour gasses and steam. In particular, it withstands H2S and CO2 better than comparable FKM and FQMV elastomers.

XYFLUOR

Greene, Tweed offers precision plastic components for a variety of demanding, semiconductor applications. These components are made from a full range of high-performance thermoplastic materials, including our Xycomp® composite materials. Xycomp is ideally suited to replace metal or ceramic compounds due to its high strength, low weight, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability. Xycomp materials may also be used in high-pressure and high-temperature (up to 250°C/482°F) applications.

The optimal Xycomp material for a specific application is deter-mined by the unique combination of plastic material, fibers and fiber orientation, as well as manufacturing techniques. Greene, Tweed provides the necessary application evaluation services to assist in choosing the best performance characteristics.

Orthtek WF is recommended for applicationssuch as nail guides and retractors where radiolucentcy and auto-claving are required.

Greene, Tweed's Voraz™ 511, a perfluoroelastomer, combines good resistance to CVD and etch plasmas with low stiction to enhance process chamber efficiency and increase uptime in FPD and solar applications. Additionally, Greene, Tweed's proprietary (patent pending) Extenis® manufacturing process facilitates the creation of large seals such as those used in Gen 5+ slit valve doors and chamber lids. This unique combination of materials properties and design capability make Voraz 511 a highly engineered seal solution that is optimized to reduce the total cost of tool ownership for FPD and solar process equipment.

Specifically formulated for low-pressure applications requiring a low sealing force, Chemraz® 504 is recommended for a wide variety of medical and biotechnology device applications requiring long-term seal reliability. Chemraz 504 offers excellent performance in dynamic and static analytical equipment applications where slight lubrication is preferred to lower friction. Fluoraz 890 is formulated for use in sanitary gaskets where both USP and FDA compliance is required, making it an excellent compound for both pharmaceutical and other hygienic fluid handling applications such as seals for brewery applications. Fluoraz 890 metal and TOC extractable are an orde of magnitude lower than premium competitive FKM formulations, ensuring little or no contamination into the process stream. Fluoraz 890 also meets the extrative requirements of both 21 CFR 177.2600 (e), (f) and 21 CFR 177.240 (d) extraction testing for perfluoroelastomers. Fluoraz 890 sanitary gaskets by Greene, Tweed are designed for minimal intrusion.Fluoraz 784 is also available in O-rings and custom shapes where a low durometer hardness is desired.

Chemraz™ E38

Greene, Tweed's Chemraz® 526, a perfluoroelastomer, offers superior chemical compatibility coupled with rapid gas decompression (also known as explosive decompression) resistance, making it the ideal compound for fluid handling equipment exposed to extreme chemical environments. Chemraz 526 has a temperature range from -4°F to 482°F (-20°C to 250°C). With its outstanding RGD (rapid gas decompression) resistant capabilities, Chemraz 526 is well suited in a range of applications from pumps and valves to oilfield completion equipment.Chemraz 526 is available for use as O-rings, gaskets and many other custom shapes.

WR® 525 is a thermoplastics composite consisting of carbon fiber in a PEEK™ matrix. WR provides excellent chemical resistance, non-galling and nonseizing properties, impact resistance and thermal shock and hydrolysis resistance.WR 525 allows the pump user to increase pump efficiency by running tighter wear rings clearances while decreasing potential pump damage when pumos are cavitated or experience down-line bearing failures.

Sanitary gaskets made from Fluoraz® 799 proivde a level of performance in SIP and CIP systems that surpasses all other elastomers. While EPDMs and FKMs can provide a seal for extended periods, chnages in physical properties can have adverse effects beyond simple volume swell. A decrease in hardness or drop in modulus signals a reduction in compressive strength. If a sanitary gasket is retorqued to the installation specifications, the gasket will be compressed at a greater level than desired, resulting in increased intrusion into the proecess stream. An increased in hardness/modulus and a drop in elongation means embrittlement. The seal will be undertorques, resulting in either leaks or cracking.

Fluoraz™ 799

Xyfluor® 860, a highly fluorinated elastomer compound, offers excellent chemical compatibility over a wide range of temperatures from -76°F to 450°F (-60°C to 232°C). Recommended for applications requiring a combination of low temperature properties and chemical resistance, Xyfluor's capabilities surpass those of standard fluoroelastomers, PTFE and graphite. Addtionally, Xyfluor reduces overall cost by extending equipment service life.
