In 1964, my visionary father, Clyde “Bud” Boyle, founded General Sealants® in a two car garage in Whittier, CA. He identified a glaring need and developed a new standard in extruded sealants that quickly became a mainstay in the industry, manufacturing moldable, sticky solids into pre-formed tapes and beads in a variety of sizes. My father’s dedication to innovation and quality, coupled with his commitment to customer service, struck a chord and his new company established a firm footing in the marketplace. He didn’t last long in that garage, ultimately moving to our current headquarters in City of Industry, CA.

At the outset, our products were widely used in pipeline and construction applications, but the boom in aerospace and composite industries found my father and I innovating again, finding ourselves at the forefront of those burgeoning sectors. With the help of our technicians, we developed extruded sealants that cured at specific temperatures and could be stripped clean from the tooling dies. Over the years, General Sealants® grew from its humble beginnings into a worldwide leader in the pipeline, construction, aerospace/composite, telecommunication, automotive, and HVAC industries.

We consistently push the limits of sealant and adhesive technology, designing new techniques in order to meet the world’s increasingly challenging requirements. General Sealants® operates with a cutting-edge, research-focused approach and a global outlook. At the same time, quality is our number-one priority, ensuring our customers receive reliably consistent formulas of the highest standard. Since the beginning, we have made it our mission to find solutions to our customer’s application needs, while still providing the high level of customer service established as the foundation of my father’s business.

GS® 4SC Sealant is a partially cross-linked butyl tape that exhibits aggressive tack to most clean and dry surfaces. This unique self-fusing sealant offers a high cohesive strength, excellent elasticity and weathering characteristics which allows GS® 4SC Sealant to endure expansion, contraction, vibration and joint movement.

GS® 825 Sealant is one of the most chemically advanced silicone based extruded sealants on the market and was primarily formulated for applications that see extremely high temperatures such as furnaces, ovens, and water heaters.

GS® 5 Sealant is non-hardening butyl rubber based extruded sealant that forms an immediate bond between plastic, concrete, metal, and wood surfaces in both above and below ground applications.

GS® WT-1-300 Sealant is a non-hardening ethylene propylene copolymer extruded sealant that forms an immediate and permanent bond to virtually any clean and dry surface. GS® WT-1-300 Sealant remains permanently flexible while exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations, will self-heal around bolts and fasteners after it has been punctured, and is extremely weather resistant.

GS® Hot Melt is a black extruded sealant that was primarily formulated and designed to be used in conjunction with heat shrinkable tubes and sleeves.
