FERROFLAM PC RPM 240 is the master batch developed especially for PC, also glass-fiber reinforced, intended to be used for electrical switches, connectors and domestic appliances, etc.
- Formulation
In PC, a recommended dosage should range from 3 to 6% (by wt) based on the weight of polymer, depending on PC grade, processing conditions and the required flame retardancy class.
Specifically, in PC, a dosage of 4% is usually sufficient to meet the most demanding applications for electrical components ie.V-0at 1.6mm in thickness according to UL94).- Formulation
FERROFLAM PC RPM 240 is endowed with high themal stability and particularly for polycarbonate and glass-fiber reinforced.
It is suitable temperatures rise up to 320 without degrading or releasing die build-up or carbonaceous residues in hot runners.
However, the following processing instructions have to be considered:
1) Polymer pellets/powders which are processed together with FERROFLAM PC RPM 240 should be pre-dried. The residual moisture content should be under 0.06%.
2) The maximum temperature of the polymer melt should not exceed 320°C.
3) Drying of the pellets immediately after compounding is recommended. Itis best to use a strand pelletizer with as short a water bath as possible.
